I am afraid!
I have come to realize that I fear many things. For example, I´m Arachibutyrophobic, Ataxophobic, Helminthophobic, Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobic, and last but not least, Zemmiphobic. Sure, these things might be stupid, but if you really think about it, don´t you feel the same way? And there are also things worth a lot of pondering, like Xanthophobia, Urophobia, Triskaidekaphobia, Thaasophobia, Porphyrophobia, Phronemophobia, Phengophobia, Noctiphobia, Melanophobia, Leukophobia, Heliophobia, Chromophobia and Allodoxaphobia. I mean, doesn´t this affect us all in some way?
Think about it.

Fun, fun, fun!
I´ve been having a lot of fun playing with AltaVista´s Babel Fish Translation, translating web pages. For example, I´ve translated this web page to both German and French, and man is it fun to read! The title of my blog, is "Mme. Mad Kat - je suis fou, OBTIENS AU-DESSUS DE LUI!" in French, and "Ms Mad Kat - ich bin, ERHALTE ÜBER IHM wütend!" in German!

Update!
I have a little updating to do; I finally found Thingeyri´s homepage (the village´s that mom was born and raised in)! And a little extra, just for the fun of it; here´s a picture of my mom 20 years ago!
Enjoy, and laugh out loud!

Little sister!
I have a sister! She was born this morning at 10:38 and her name is Sigrún Ugla. She is perfectly adoreable, as you can see here! She is 52 cm long and about 3565 gr (if I remember correctly). She is so tiny, and I think it´s really strange that I was even smaller than she is (47 cm, 3080 gr)!

Welcome to the world!
Well, my friends, as I am writing this my mom is giving birth to my new sibling at the hospital! They left this morning at about 5:30 AM, but I don´t know how long it will take; it took me only 4 hours to come out of my mother´s womb, my brother 7-8 hours (I think) and my mom was only 40 minutes on the way! The nurse barely had time to put a sheet on the bed before she was born (mom, not the nurse), even though she had been warned, that Kata (my grandma) could be giving birth any time, and she should have everything ready because it usually took Kata a really short time to give birth! My grandparents live in a very small village in the West Fjords, where everyone knows everyone knows everyone. There isn´t even a hospital there, just a small practice. Now this practice has been closed, and is someone has an accident or has to give birth, they must drive 40 minutes to the next town.

Icelandic forest
Just heard a hilarious joke, that many foreign visitors are told:
Q: What do you do if you get lost in an Icelandic forest?
A: Stand up!!!
Heeeeheee.
For those who do not know: there is no forest in Iceland, only a few little fragile tree plants that people have desperately planted to try and create a real forest here! | -: Trina

"Is there no one else?!?!?"
Went to see Troy last night; "pre-premiére"! My half-brother´s dad works at Fréttablaðið (a news paper) and frequently gets free tickets to movies and that kind of stuff, and he got two free tickets to this "pre-premiére", which all the movie critics go to. He is in charge of the advertisements (don´t know what that´s called in English :)) and the companies that advertise in the news paper are always trying to stay on his good side, hoping he would give them some kind of discount on the spaces in the paper. Which he doesn´t, of course. I think. Anyways. Since Troy is PG16, he couldn´t take my brother, who is 9, so he gave the tickets to me. And because I don´t have any "friends" who live less than 20 minutes away (he called me at 20:10, the movie started at 20:30), my uncle, who was in town, went with me. My mom is 40 weeks pregnant, so obviously she couldn´t go.
So the movie was good; the battles and all that were very realistic, plus Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom looked really good in leather mini-skirts... ;) Orlando Bloom looked especially good; he just looks so perfect, his skin looks so soft, ditto his hair!
SPOILER AHEAD, DON'T READ IF YOU HAVE YET TO SEE THIS MOVIE!
Pity that the character he played looked kind of like a coward and an idiot, at least in the beginning of the movie!
SPOILER ENDS, please continue reading!
Last final today; German. Did surprisingly well, concidering that I hadn´t studied much and went to see a three hour film last night! But the test was pretty easy. In the last part, we were supposed to write a 70-80 words essay; Meine Familie (for those not priviledged to learn German: My family). A few months ago we did an essay about the exact same thing (100 words), so you´d think that it´d be best to try and remember how that one was (got a 10 for it, as all German essays :)), but I, always living on the edge (not), had to try and change this a little bit, using words and verb-forms that we haven´t even learned yet, so I can´t be sure if it´s correct. I wrote about mom and dad, and since they are divorced they live totally different lives, and I wrote more than 120 words! I stopped counting after 119, or sth. But, it said in the instructions, that we should be original, so I was! Plus, on all of these 100-word essays we have had to do I have used words that we haven´t learned yet (using a dictionary, of course), and many many I used the wrong "Kasuendung", but I always got a 10, and the teacher usually wrote at the bottom of the essay sth like "very original, subordinate clauses don´t come until next year..." etc.
So I think I´m on the safe side.
Anyways. I do not expect you to enjoy my brags about how my German teacher favours me...
So the QotD is especially funny. Just for you!

Profile?
So I just edited my public blogger-profile (created, more like, since I don´t remember having one before!), but I have no idea how to link it to the blog; blogger.com has recently been updated, as you blogger-users know, and the new templates have a link to the profiles. But since my template is "custom-made" it has no such thing.
Anyway this profile isn´t that interesting; just the normal "about me, favs, interests, occupation, location" etc. Why I "created" this profile I don´t know, I just like filling out this kind of stuff.
Stupid, eh?
Math final this morning. Went ok. I sometimes think that this teacher has something against me; there were a LOT of problems, that I hadn´t got right on other tests, and she totally knew it, the ****! There weren´t that many problems that I am actually good at, like: y=3x+5 x=6y-10. I don´t know if this makes sense, I just made that problem up!
Nothing interesting to say today. The QotD is funny though.
Enjoy!

A Crumb of Cake!
I realise that this is almost exactly what I just wrote on my class´s blog, but what the he11:
English final this morning, and it was the EASIEST test I have ever taken, not counting the Jóna Hansen glossary tests in 8.grade. It was a piece of cake. Not even a piece. A crumb, more like. And I didn´t even study for it; just read the short stories, and took a quick look at the glossary this morning before the test!
Eurovision Song Contest, semi-final tonight. I´m gonna watch. Not because the songs are great, actually, most of them are horrible; but I always watch it, and I´m even gonna watch the finals on Saturday.
I just saw that the archives are back to normal!!!!! They´re actually readable now, and the posts I have been trying to delete, are gone!!!!!
YAYYY!
Eureka! (Well, I haven´t "found it", but it´s a cool word)
Yesterday, I was listening to my new Travis CD (12 Memories) really loud in my room, and mom asked me if I was listening to some African music!!! I don not know where the he11 that came from, but she said that she´d heard a bit that had sounded like her African Voices CD.
She can be a little...
I made a homepage for my unborn sibling on barnaland.is last night. Please take a look at it! Sure, since Grjónið (what we call the baby) isn´t born, there are no pictures, no name, not even the gender of the baby, but I still wrote a little about how we all have guessed when the baby will be born, and who think it´s a boy and who think it´s a girl. I suspect it´s a girl. Hope so, at least; I only have younger brothers. I do have a step-sister and a former step-sister, but they´re both 20, and one lives in Finland and the other one in Bolungarvík, so I don´t see them very often.
Ciao! (is that right?)

I am exactly...
... 16 yrs, 48 weeks, 5 days, 12 hrs and 33 minutes old right now.
Yup, I´m already counting the days, hours and minutes till my birthday (May 31st)!
I told my mom last night what I want for my birthday; the Rooney CD. I had never heard a single song from them, but they were on the O.C. last night, and now I really want the CD!
Talk about being impressionable.
Anyways. Mom said she´d already decided what to get me, but she wouldn´t tell me what it was, only that I´d said I wanted it not so long ago. So now I´m really trying to concentrate and remember, but I don´t remember telling her about anything I wanted, exept that Travis CD I bought last week.
So what the HE11 can it be???????
No complaints about the Geology final yesterday, did surprisingly well! Ok, there was nothing that I knew by heart, some things that I know were wrong, but I´ll still be disappointed if I don´t get at least 7.
So. English tomorrow, and I can honestly say, that I don´t feel guilty about not having studied that much today. Or yesterday. I read the few short stories that we have to know by heart (boring), tried to start re-reading Goggle-eyes, but it is soooo BORING, that I just couldn´t get past the first few pages, so I just watched MTV instead. Not so interesting either, but hey, better than studying! I really should take a better look at my glossary book, since that is the part of English that I´m worst in (translating English words exactly to Icelandic). But what good will that do me? I understand it, can speak it, and even write it, isn´t that enough?
Well, it should be!

When I´m Sixty-Four!
When I get older, loosing my hair...
My cat, Jóakim, is 12 today! According to this chart, he is 64 in human years! And, as it says in the song; he is loosing his hair! Well, he´s not going bald or anything, but he sure does leave a lot of hair lumps around the house, including the sofa, dining table, the beds etc.
Anyways. He loved his present, which was, as usual, a bowl of prawns! I didn´t think he´d be in the mood to dress up, so I decided not to tie a red ribbon around his neck. He doesn´t really like it when I do that, anyway.
I have decided to start a new tradition; Thought of the Day! If you don´t think it´s a good idea, then please tell me.
Bye!

If I would win the lottery...
... And get exellent grades, I would go to this school, and study this or this. I think it would also be fun to be in this, but then I´d of course have to go to this school.
But this is all, of course, just a dream.
I think that I might go to this school. Don´t know (yet) what I should study, but since I want to be a writer, I guess I should take courses about writing, and stuff like that.
I realise that the use of the word "stuff" above may not be an appropriate word for someone who wants to go to univesity, but it was the only word I could think of right now. And I assume that in two years time, I will be mature enough to go to university.
Well, enogh about that.
Keep reading for: Complaints and whining about finals!
Just thought I should warn you!
Icelandic this morning, and it was actually not that hard! Of course there was some stuff that I wasn´t totally sure about, and the worst part was that there were three questions about the short stories that we were supposed to read. Only three, and I had only re-read one of them. But I did kinda remeber the others, so I could at least try to save myself.
Next Monday, on Trína´s blog: More complaints!

I hate history!!!!!!!
...So to speak. I hate history exams that my (former) history teacher makes. They are something like this:
1. One of these statements is true:
a) Cæsar was a Roman emperor
b) Cæsar lived in the 3. century BC
c) Cæsar lived in the 1. century AD
d) Cæsar lived in the 2. century BC
(I would like to point out that history is not my strongest suit, and I´m not even sure if any of these statements is true! Exept the first one, I know that one´s false)
2. Jesus lived in the time when
a) Tiberius was emperor
b) Nero was empereor
c) Vesuvius erupted
d) Istanbul was called Constantinople
And so on and so on.
By now you probably have realised, that I my history final was today, and I didn´t do so well.
But enough about that. I have 6 finals to worry about; next one is Icelandic on Friday, and that subject is getting kinda hard for me, which bugs me, because it was one of my best subjects last year! The only tests, that I don´t have to worry about, are English, Danish, and German. I think I´m one of my German teacher´s favourite students, because she is always telling me how my accent is good (I´m not sure I agree completely), my grammar is good (again, not such big a deal for me, beacause it´s a lot like Icelandic grammar), and stuff like that. I think that, even if I would just skip half of the test, she would still give me like 8-10!
OK, maybe not, but you get the picture!
Enough about these stupid finals, I have some good news (for me): I bought the latest Travis CD yesterday; 12 Memories, and it´s great! I was going to ask my mom to give me it for my birthday (May 31st), but I couldn´t wait. I saw the Love Will Come Through video on Monday (not for the first time, though!), and right then I decided I couldn´t wait any longer; I just HAD to get that CD. So I bought it. And I do so not regret it. I now have all their CDs: Good Feeling (bought it in København), The Man Who (bought that one in Tromsø, in Norway), The Invisible Band (-"- duty free store on the Keflavik airport) and now 12 Memories.
Well, must load the dishwasher and watch TV, as one must always do when one should be studying!
