God, the smell!

For a while now I have been baffled at how my room sometimes smells, literally, like crap. It's terrible, sometimes I can't even bear to stay in my own room! I've tried throwing out all the garbage (not that I usually have a lot of waste), spraying odor neutraliser all over it and the bathroom as well, and keeping the small window wide open while I'm at work. And yet it still smelt like crap!

This morning I realised the real reason for the stench. I slept with the window open, and waking up to this horrible smell, it just came to me, like an epiphany.

It's the window - or, to be exact, what's outside the window. See, outside my window I have the spectacular view of a parking lot, - or actually, nobody parks their cars there, so I don't really get what it is! - as well as huge dust bins. These dustbins are for the waste produced by all the people living in the surrounding buildings, so sometimes they overflow. And, keeping my window open overnight and during the day while I'm at work, let the smell freely flow into my room!

A simple solution to this problem: just keep the window closed, or at least not open it more than a tiny bit. OK, so it might get a bit stuffy in here after a while, but hey, better than the smell of garbage! I'll just deal with the stuffiness when the time comes.
