Ding Dong Merrily On High - Celtic Woman

Love this, too. Especially the "Gloria, hosanna in excelsis" part! One of my favourite Christmas songs.

There was a group in my Beat generation class today that delivered a presentation on Tom Waits (who was, in fact, heavily influenced by the Beats), and they showed us this video to exhibit his sense of humour. It's funny, please watch!

I think I probably posted this video before, around Christmas time '07, but I have to do it again now. Yesterday there was an article in the paper about Páll Óskar, the Icelandic pop star, and there was a list of the albums he has released. Two of those are a collaboration with the harp player Monika Abendroth. I have a few songs from those albums (which I of course purchased from tonlist.is - I don't pirate Icelandic music!), and they're all Christmas songs, soooo beautiful. Actually, one of them is an old madrigal (which technically is not supposed to be accompanied by music, but it's beautiful anyway) which I sang with the MR-choir back in '03-'04, and just loved. One of the things I loved about it was that there's a mezzo soprano part! I am a mezzo, but most songs don't have a special part for that voice, so I usually just sing soprano. It's so much fun being able to sing along to a polyphonic song and NOT sing the melody, hehe. Anyway. I made a mental note to listen to A Spaceman Came Traveling later, but only remembered it today. I listened to it twice in a row.

REM

I like having good dreams. Even though that means I don't get as much deep sleep as I need and therefore sleep for more than 12 hours...
