I just realised that the entire two years that I lived in Edinburgh, I always carried a city street map in my purse.
Even though I knew, at least, my neighbourhood, as well as the city centre, like the back of my hand, I was always prepared for getting lost.
However, I don't think that says anything about how much of a "home" Edinburgh was to me - I mean, if it really were my home, would I need a map to find my way around? Well, obviously!
The truth is, even here in Iceland, my home country, I carry a miniature street map in my purse - I'm actually still getting to know the neighbourhood I live in now (put together I've lived here for 2 years... so there!).
And Edinburgh is kind of a big city, and sometimes I needed to venture into the suburbs...
